I’ve decided to forego sleep here of late.  It’s not so much a conscious choice as it has been a series of events that have come up here of late which I have opted to pursue in lieu of collecting REM.  This schedule shows no sign of stopping for the duration of this week so I’m taking matters into my own hands and declaring a temporary hiatus in posting until Monday December 2nd.  It’s not you, it’s me.  With the holiday week upon us I have commitments every night this week through Sunday so I just don’t know when I’d have a chance to publish anything worth your attention between now and then.  It’s Thanksgiving week after all, you shouldn’t be putzing around on the internet and instead you should be spending time with family and friends as best you can.

So before I go I wanted to leave you with a handful of things that I am thankful for as we head into this holiday season:

  • Derrick Rose’s healthy return to the pinnacle of the NBA – oh wait…
  • The Wife, The Wee One, and the Wee One Yet To Come
  • The rest of my family and friends
  • The fact that TLC does not find my life screwed up enough to ask to make a television show about it.
  • My health and that of those whom I care for.
  • To the Native Americans – thanks for taking this whole thing in stride!
  • The inventor of fleece.
  • The people who run Sun Wah BBQ.  Some friends and I ate there Saturday night and the best way I can describe the experience is “spiritual.”  Get the duck and thank me later.
  • The state of Florida and my distance from it.
  • The fact that I don’t really put money on my Bears predictions.
  • Rental cars that have Sirius Radio and Howard Stern still activated.
  • Stuffing
  • Having an employer that feels as though my skill set is worth retaining for the foreseeable future.
  • The way in which our society let the whole Bubble Tea movement of the early 2000s come and go without suffering any major casualties.

There is much more that I am thankful for obviously but those are the big ones that I wanted to get off my chest.  Go forth and celebrate this wonderful week with your loved ones and take a moment to appreciate all that you’ve been given and/or have earned.

Finally, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this little indulgence of mine here at Chi-Guy.com.  I truly appreciate your feedback, emails and comments from my various musings.  I hope that stopping through here every now and again causes the corners of your lips to turn upward as everyone deserves as many smiles as they can collect in this life.  Happy Thanksgiving!
